Football Recap: Houston Mustangs vs. Bartlett Panthers

Houston extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 17-14 heartbreaker at the hands of the Bartlett Panthers. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Mustangs couldn't quite close it out.

Although Houston took the loss, they still got scores from Jonas Jimerson and Canon Day.

As for Bartlett, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 14 points in those games.

Bartlett got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Patrick Sadler out in front who threw for 124 yards and one TD on only six passes, and also rushed for 47 yards.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Houston will take on Cordova at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bartlett, they will challenge Collierville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Dragons have now posted at least 31 points in their last four games.
