Basketball Recap: Azel Tayamen and Talia Mendez Secure Win for Saint John Paul the Great Catholic

Saint John Paul the Great Catholic won the last time they faced Madeira and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Saint John Paul the Great Catholic Wolves came out on top against the Madeira Snails by a score of 40-32. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Leading Saint John Paul the Great Catholic to victory were Talia Mendez and Azel Tayamen. Mendez almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 boards, while Tayamen posted 14 points and three steals. Those 14 points gave Tayamen a new career-high.

Saint John Paul the Great Catholic now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Madeira, they dropped their record down to 2-1 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
