Baseball Recap: San Tan Charter's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to 11

San Tan Charter had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Monday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans a 14-0 shutout. Considering the Roadrunners have won ten matches by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Titus Csader made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Csader was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Tyrus Colomer looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Tommy Crupi and Braden Peasel did most of the damage at the plate: Crupi scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Peasel scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Crupi also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Bairyk Schulte, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI.

San Tan Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Gilbert Classical Academy only posted an OBP of .167.

San Tan Charter pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9-1 record this season.

San Tan Charter will head out to square off against Miami at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Roadrunners are facing the Vandals at the right time seeing as the Vandals are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they will square off against Superior at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
