Baseball Game Preview: Palisade Bulldogs vs. Palmer Ridge Bears

The Palisade Bulldogs will be taking part in a tournament against the Palmer Ridge Bears at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Palisade saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 14-11 to Ponderosa. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly three runs.

Palisade got a big performance out of Dylon Larson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, Larson posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Howard, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Palmer Ridge not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5, 2024. Everything went their way against Grand Junction Central as Palmer Ridge made off with an 11-3 win.

The team relied heavily on Fletcher Sexton, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Zach Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Palisade's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Palmer Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Palisade took their win against Palmer Ridge when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 9-2. Will Palisade repeat their success, or does Palmer Ridge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
