Baseball Recap: Newburgh Free Academy Find Success

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Newburgh Free Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Fairfax Lions by a score of 6-5 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Logan Voltaire was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Cross, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Newburgh Free Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Fairfax, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Coming up, Newburgh Free Academy will face off against Fairport at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fairfax, they will take on Grassfield at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
