Volleyball Game Preview: Jonesboro Hurricane vs. Conway Wampus Cats + Official Tickets

Jonesboro is 1-9 against Conway since October of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hurricane will head out to face off against the Wampus Cats at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Jonesboro got the win against Little Rock Southwest by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Hurricane in their matchups with the Gryphons: they've now won six in a row.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Jonesboro was: they took every set by at least 13 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-12, 25-9.

Meanwhile, Conway faced Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Wampus Cats had just enough and edged out the Tigers 3-2.

Conway wouldn't go down easily and took Central into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 25-15, 25-27, 25-18, 15-13.

Jonesboro's victory bumped their record up to 15-8-1. As for Conway, their win bumped their record up to 24-5.

Jonesboro suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Conway in their previous meeting back in September. Can the Hurricane avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
