Soccer Recap: Laney Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Ashley

Laney faced Ashley in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Screaming Eagle by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, Laney couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Henry Tidey, who's now up to 21 this season.

The defeat snapped Laney's winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 15-3-1 record. As for Ashley, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-3 record this season.
