Southside has gone a perfect 6-0 against Greer recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Southside Tigers will challenge the Greer Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Southside has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with seven straight defeats, while Greer will come in with six straight victories.

Last Friday, Southside lost to Fountain Inn on the road by a 57-42 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while the Fury are ranked 74th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greer). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Pickens 103-56. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Southside better focus on containing Mylan Hames and Landon Valentine as the pair were huge in Greer's win. Hames went 11 for 16 to rack up 25 points and three steals, while Valentine went 9 of 14 en route to 23 points and three steals. Valentine continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jaiden Stevens was another key player, putting up 12 points and five boards.

Greer was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists.they racked up six more assists than Pickens' almost as impressive total of 11

Greer pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 81.2 points over those games. As for Southside, their loss dropped their record down to 5-17.

Southside beat Greer 61-52 in their previous matchup back in December of 2016. Will Southside repeat their success, or does Greer have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
