Baseball Recap: New Riegel Continues Home Dominance on Friday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but New Riegel ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Lakota Raiders 5-4. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Jackets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

New Riegel's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lakota, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-11.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. New Riegel is set to take on their familiar foe Gibsonburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Jackets 3.5, the Golden Bears 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Lakota will square off against rival Danbury at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
