Football Recap: Grant County Comes Up Short

Grant County played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 48-22 to the Scott Eagles. The defeat continues a trend for the Braves in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Scott had a senior duo take command as Trey Cook threw for 437 yards and six TDs while completing 80% of his passes and Aaron Hampton picked up 195 receiving yards and three scores. Hampton is crushing it when it comes to receiving yards: he's posted at least 100 every time he's taken the field this season. Lucas Tomlin helped Cook out on the ground, rushing for 36 yards and one touchdown, while also catching one score.

Grant County's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Scott, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Grant County is taking a road trip to challenge Pendleton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Scott, they will host Bourbon County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
