Baseball Game Preview: Redington Huskies vs. Kodiak Bears

For the second straight game, Redington will face off against Kodiak. The Huskies will face off against the Bears at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Redington barely beat Kodiak the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Bears on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Huskies.

Kaden Petzoldt and JuJu Atencio made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Petzoldt tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Atencio struck out 11 batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. At bat, Petzoldt went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run, while Atencio got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ikaia Flores was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Nathan Fields was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Redington always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kodiak only posted an OBP of .367.

Redington now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Kodiak, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
