Soccer Recap: Bayfield Comes Up Short

Bayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers. While losing is never fun, Bayfield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado soccer rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Montezuma-Cortez are ranked 84th).

Bayfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-1-2 record this season.

Bayfield will square off against Del Norte at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bayfield will be up against Del Norte's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.8 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they will face off against Ridgway at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
