League recap: Brethren leading West Michigan D at 22-11

West Michigan D league recap: 5/29/12

Brethren currently sits at the top of the league with a mark of 22-11 overall and 12-2 in the league. Catholic Central is in second place, four games behind with a 3-1 record in league play.

Pentwater lost ground in West Michigan D this week by falling to league opponents two times, a figure which led the league.

The Bobcats' pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 13 hits and 10 walks to lead the league in both categories. Brethren's pitchers have been charged with only 149 hits and have struck out 240 batters. Dylan Richardson is tops on the staff with 88 Ks.

The Bobcats, the season leader in runs scored at 264, added to their total with a league-high 44 runs this week. Brethren's key hitters include Lucas Richardson, who has a team-high 52 runs, and Richardson, who leads the squad with with 33 RBIs.



The Falcons' Erik Wallstrom finished his week with 11 hits, tops in the league. His 27 hits for the year are seventh in the league, and he boasts a .365 batting average.
