Sparta Academy had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were outmatched by the Macon-East Montgomery Academy Knights and fell 60-32. The Warriors were down 46-25 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

When it comes to explaining why Sparta Academy lost on Friday, don't look at Krisalyn Johnson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 11 points and 13 boards. Johnson has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Carly Gauna, who posted 16 points.

Jamya Powell was nothing short of spectacular for Macon-East Montgomery Academy: she dropped a double-double with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Addie Longcrier was another key player, putting up 17 points along with six assists and three steals.

Sparta Academy has already played their next matchup, a 43-22 defeat against Abbeville Christian Academy on the 15th. As for Macon-East Montgomery Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-31 loss against North River Christian on the 15th.
