Volleyball Recap: Stone Ridge Christian Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Modesto Christian on Monday, Stone Ridge Christian came back down to earth. The Knights fell 3-1 to the Mariposa County Grizzlies on Wednesday. The Knights have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-12, 25-18.

Peyton Shaw paced Stone Ridge Christian's offense, picking up nine kills. Shaw got some help from Morgan Sorensen and her 17 assists. Shaw also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Khloe Sphabmixay, each putting up two.

Mariposa County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was MIA HANSEN, who had 18 digs and four assists. That's the most digs HANSEN has posted since back in September. ABBY BEERY was another key player, getting six digs and three aces.

Stone Ridge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Mariposa County, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-9.

Stone Ridge Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Le Grand on the 20th. As for Mariposa County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Denair on the 20th.
