Baseball Game Preview: Viewpoint Patriots vs. Milken Wildcats

The Viewpoint Patriots will venture away from home to challenge the Milken Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Viewpoint will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Viewpoint's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 3-0 victory over Van Nuys.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Milken challenged Santa Clarita Christian on Wednesday. The Wildcats had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since March 24th.

Aidan Pereg looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Milken's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Shokrian, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Viewpoint pushed their record up to 10-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Milken, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Viewpoint took their win against Milken when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 10-2 score. Will the Patriots repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
