Basketball Recap: Terrebonne Takes a Loss

Terrebonne and Mandeville squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Terrebonne had to settle for second. They lost to the Mandeville Skippers on the road by a 67-51 margin. The Tigers have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Despite the loss, Terrebonne still got an impressive performance from Amyja Clark, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten boards. Those 28 points gave Clark a new career-high.

Even though they lost, Terrebonne smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matches.

Alanna Benoit was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a triple-double with 26 points, nine rebounds, and ten assists for Mandeville. Benoit has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Giulia Balbo was another key player, going 8-for-11 to rack up 18 points.

Terrebonne's defeat dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Mandeville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-9 record this season.

Terrebonne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mandeville, they will venture away from home to challenge Walker at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Walker is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.8 points per game this season.
