Softball Recap: St. Dominic Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Dominic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past the Maine Central Institute Huskies 13-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Saints also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Emily Andrews, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. She is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Olivia Tapley was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: St. Dominic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maine Central Institute only managed seven hits.

St. Dominic's record now sits at 6-3. As for Maine Central Institute, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.

St. Dominic will host North Yarmouth Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Saints' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Maine Central Institute, they will head out on the road to challenge Central at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
