Basketball Recap: Monson Takes a Loss

Monson and Hopedale squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Monson had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 72-25 loss at the hands of the Hopedale Blue Raiders. The Mustangs were red-hot offensively heading into the matchup (they scored no less than 55 points in the five games prior), but the Blue Raiders' defense proved too tough.

The defeat snapped Monson's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-6 record. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points over those games. As for Hopedale, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Monson nor Hopedale have any future games scheduled.
