Softball Recap: Collinsville Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

While Collinsville put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Dodd City. The Pirates walked away with a 3-0 win over the Hornets. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-0 back in February.

The result came thanks to Reece Elvington's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Collinsville's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Miller, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Another was Jaydee Matlock, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Collinsville's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-13. As for Dodd City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Collinsville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against Sam Rayburn on the 11th. As for Dodd City, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-10 defeat against Tioga on the 11th.
