Basketball Game Preview: Olpe Eagles vs. Little River Redskins

The Olpe Eagles will face off against the Little River Redskins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Olpe is headed into Friday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They fell 56-44 to Nemaha Central on Monday.

Meanwhile, Little River put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 67-31 win over Elyria Christian. With the Redskins ahead 42-11 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Olpe better keep an eye on Arika Feldman. She was instrumental in Little River's win, going 12-for-18 on her way to 29 points and five steals. The game was Feldman's ninth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Saelyn Raleigh, who posted eight points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Little River pushed their record up to 17-0 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.4 points over those games. As for Olpe, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6-2.

Olpe lost to Little River at home by a decisive 61-44 margin when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Thankfully for Olpe, Alaina Eck (who went 8-for-14 en route to 21 points along with five boards and four steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
