Basketball Game Preview: Stratford Elks vs. Spearman Lynx

Stratford has won 12 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Spearman has won 12 straight on the road also dating back to last season, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Stratford Elks will welcome the Spearman Lynx at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Stratford strolled past Sunray with points to spare, taking the game 52-35. Given the Elks' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 77th, while the Bobcats are ranked 1026th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Spearman took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 40-8 victory over Sunray. The Lynx have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 32 points or more this season.

Stratford's win bumped their record up to 23-3. As for Spearman, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.

Stratford didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Spearman in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 42-37 win. Will Stratford repeat their success, or does Spearman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
