Baseball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

Dover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 6-3 to the York Suburban Trojans. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Dover got a good showing from Kamden Hinze, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

On the hitting side, Jimmy Ehrlinger made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Laine Fisher, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Dover's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for York Suburban, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Dover will host Big Spring at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for York Suburban, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastern Lebanon County at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
