Softball Game Preview: Pioneer Titans vs. Cerritos Dons

Pioneer hasn't had much luck against Cerritos recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Pioneer will challenge Cerritos at 3:15 p.m. The game will give Pioneer their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Last Friday, Pioneer didn't have quite enough to beat Mountain View and fell 6-5.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cerritos). They put the hurt on Artesia with a sharp 15-2 win on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won nine in a row.

Pioneer's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Cerritos, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything went Pioneer's way against Cerritos in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Pioneer made off with an 8-2 win. Will Pioneer repeat their success, or does Cerritos has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
