Basketball Game Preview: Point Pleasant Big Blacks vs. Marietta Tigers

The Point Pleasant Big Blacks will face off against the Marietta Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Point Pleasant is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Ripley on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Point Pleasant was outmatched by Ripley and fell 80-28. The game marked the Big Blacks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Marietta's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to Meigs. The loss put an end to the Tigers' undefeated start to the season.

Point Pleasant now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Marietta, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.

Point Pleasant suffered a grim 53-31 defeat to Marietta when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Point Pleasant avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
