Softball Recap: Seattle Christian Wins Going Away Against Klahowya

Seattle Christian hadn't done well against Klahowya recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 10-4 victory. Considering the Warriors have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Jessica Knight made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off nine hits (and only one walk). Knight was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evelyn Koontz, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Kenzy Hunt, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for Seattle Christian and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Klahowya, they moved to 4-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Seattle Christian will venture away from home to face off against Granite Falls at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Klahowya, they will host Cascade Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
