Recap: Logansport Berries vs. Argos Dragons
The Logansport Berries's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They fell to Argos 54-50.
Despite the loss, Logansport still got an impressive performance from Lydia Goad, who scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Goad scored a full 38% of Logansport's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Aracyn Good was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Even though they lost, Logansport were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Argos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Samantha Redinger, who scored 25 points along with five assists. The game was Redinger's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alydiah Leed, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Logansport's loss dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Argos, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Logansport will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Kokomo at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Kokomo presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Logansport in Indiana (Kokomo is ranked 165th, while Logansport is ranked 366th). Argos will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Northwestern at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
