Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Gibbs walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Covington Chargers on Wednesday as they made off with a 12-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won 25 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Shelby Williams was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Brianna Baker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Gibbs lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
