Soccer Game Preview: West Charlotte vs. Statesville + How To Watch

The West Charlotte Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Statesville Greyhounds at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

West Charlotte and East Mecklenburg faced off in a cross-town battle on Tuesday. The Lions took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, West Charlotte can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 426th, while East Mecklenburg are ranked 142nd).

Meanwhile, Statesville fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Mooresville on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 3-2.

Carlos Morales and George Dailey scored both of Statesville's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

This is the second loss in a row for West Charlotte and nudges their season record down to 3-11-3. As for Statesville, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7-5.
