Soccer Recap: Fountain Valley Takes a Loss

Fountain Valley managed to keep up with Edison until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Fountain Valley Barons lost 3-0 to the Edison Chargers. The loss continues a trend for the Barons in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost eight in a row.

Fountain Valley's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Edison, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Fountain Valley and Edison should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Fountain Valley (ranked 201st) will meet Newport Harbor (ranked 692nd) at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th. Similarly, Edison (ranked 315th) will meet Corona del Mar (ranked 905th) at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
