Baseball Game Preview: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Concord Minutemen

The Jimtown Jimmies will head out on the road to challenge the Concord Minutemen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Jimtown's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Concord's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Jimtown earned a 6-3 victory over Edwardsburg. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jimmies.

Ben McAllister spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Christman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Concord came out on top against Wawasee on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Minutemen came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 12-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Minutemen considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Alex Kridler was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Joey Hauger was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Concord hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive contests.

Jimtown's record is now 17-6. As for Concord, their record now sits at 9-13.
