Softball Recap: Kaufer Takes a Loss

If Kaufer was riding high fresh off their 13-3 takedown of Premont on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kaufer Seahawks came up short against the Banquete Bulldogs on Saturday, falling 19-3. The Seahawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Kaufer dropped their record down to 1-10 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Banquete, the victory snapped their losing streak at 11 games and leaves them with a 3-12 record.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kaufer will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on La Villa at 5:30 p.m. on March 25th. As for Banquete, they will head out to challenge Odem at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Odem has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.38 runs per game on average), something Banquete will no doubt try to take advantage of.
