Game recap: Rocklin High School Football Team defeats Nevada Union

ROCKLIN, Calif. - Rocklin (Calif.) jumped out to an early lead against Nevada Union (Grass Valley, Calif.) and never looked back on the way to a 55-7 victory on Saturday.

The Thunder scored 21 points in the first quarter. Rocklin scored on a kick return touchdown by Joshua Gurnaby, an Evyn Holtz touchdown run and a Gage Sorenson touchdown pass to Blake Laurin.

After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Gurnaby in the first quarter, RHS led 48-0 at the half.

The Thunder expanded their lead to 55 points entering the fourth quarter. Rocklin scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run by Max O'Rourke.

Nevada Union's only touchdown came on a pass in the fourth quarter.



RHS came into the game allowing 14.2 points per game. Nevada Union's seven points were right around their season average of 8.6 per game.

The win brought Rocklin's winning streak to four games.

In a Sierra Foothill League game next week Rocklin (4-2) takes on Granite Bay, and Nevada Union (0-6) will go up against Woodcreek also in a Sierra Foothill League game.
