Baseball Game Preview: Edmonson County Wildcats vs. Trinity Raiders

Edmonson County is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Monday. They will look to defend their home field against the Trinity Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Saturday, Edmonson County didn't have quite enough to beat Hart County and fell 8-7. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chase Bullock was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. He also brought in two RBI, marking his first of the season. Garrett Lyons was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Trinity was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against McLean County, falling 15-0.

Trinity's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Edmonson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Everything went Edmonson County's way against Trinity in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Edmonson County made off with an 11-0 win. Does Edmonson County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Trinity turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
