Soccer Game Preview: Durand vs. Birch Run

The Durand Railroaders will head out to face off against the Birch Run Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Durand fell victim to Clio and their airtight defense last Wednesday. They lost 8-0 to the Mustangs. That's two games in a row now that Durand have lost by exactly eight goals.

Meanwhile, Birch Run also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Frankenmuth on Friday, falling 8-0. The defeat continues a trend for Birch Run in their meetings with Frankenmuth: they've now lost five in a row.

Birch Run's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Durand, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Durand suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Birch Run in their previous matchup back in May of 2016. Can the Railroaders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
