Football Recap: Jordan-Matthews Falls to Carrboro in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Jordan-Matthews had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 15-14 to the Carrboro Jaguars. The Jets haven't had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

When it comes to explaining why Jordan-Matthews lost, don't look at Jakari Blue. Despite the final result, he rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown. The Jets also got a significant boost from Namir Wiley, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.

Carrboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthew Bien-Aise led the charge by picking up 152 receiving yards and one score. Another player making a difference was Jake Stevenson, who threw for 301 yards and a pair of TDs.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan-Matthews will head out to take on Chatham Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carrboro, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Northern Durham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
