Football Recap: Jordan-Matthews Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Jordan-Matthews had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They secured a 20-15 W over the Carrboro Jaguars. For the Jets, this counts as revenge for the 27-0 victory the Jaguars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Jordan-Matthews was led to victory by Jakari Blue and Kamarie Hadley. Blue rushed for 93 yards and a pair of TDs, while Hadley rushed for 104 yards on only 13 carries. That's the most rushing yards Blue has posted since back in August of 2024.

Carrboro's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matthew Bien-Aise, who picked up 152 receiving yards and one score. Jake Stevenson was another key player, having thrown for 301 yards and two touchdowns.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan-Matthews will venture away from home to square off against Chatham Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carrboro, they will head out to take on Northern Durham at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
