Softball Recap: Hanson Memorial's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Hanson Memorial can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They blew past St. Martinville 16-1. Hanson Memorial not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th.

Onnie Doucet was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Doucet was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Camren Rochel, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Emma Pitre, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Hanson Memorial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Hanson Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for St. Martinville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hanson Memorial will host Acadiana Renaissance Charter Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for St. Martinville, they will face off against Vermilion Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
