Basketball Recap: Keene Central Comes Up Short at Home Against Wells + How To Watch

Keene Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a blow on Thursday as they fell 69-51 to the Wells Wells CSD. The Beavers were not able to make up for their loss to the Wells CSD from their previous meeting back in December of 2024.

Keene Central's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Asa Sprague, who went 12-for-23 en route to 26 points in addition to six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Peter Robjent, who almost dropped a triple-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and nine blocks.

Wells' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hunter Passmore led the charge by dropping a triple-double with 17 points, 11 boards, and 12 assists. What's more, Passmore also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Chase Brooks, who shot 44% from the field on his way to 28 points.

Coming up, Keene Central is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Indian Lake Central at 6:30 p.m. on the 12th. As for Wells, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-43 loss against Northville on the 5th.
