Basketball Recap: St. Joseph's Catholic Comes Up Short

If St. Joseph's Catholic was riding high fresh off their 67-20 takedown of Southside Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The St. Joseph's Catholic Knights took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Southside Christian Sabres. The Knights were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Sabres earlier this season, when they won 67-20.

Despite the defeat, St. Joseph's Catholic saw an underclassman step up: freshman Evie Adams went 5 for 12 on her way to 17 points and four steals. Adams is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

St. Joseph's Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Southside Christian, their record is now 9-4.

St. Joseph's Catholic will take on Palmetto at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph's Catholic is facing Palmetto at the right time seeing as Palmetto is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Southside Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-38 victory against Christ Church Episcopal on the 29th.
