Softball Recap: Taylor Allderdice Finds Playoff Glory Versus Carrick

It's playoff time, and Taylor Allderdice had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Carrick Raiders on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Raiders two weeks ago, they had to take a 4-3 loss.

Braelyn Altman made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Altman wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Delia Graham, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Taylor Allderdice has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Carrick, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.

As of now, neither Taylor Allderdice nor the Raiders have any future games scheduled.
