Soccer Recap: Saltillo Takes a Loss

After flying high against Ripley on Monday, Saltillo came back down to earth. The Tigers fell just short of the Tupelo Golden Wave by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. Saltillo were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tupelo apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Saltillo has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season. As for Tupelo, they pushed their record up to 5-1-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Looking ahead, Saltillo will challenge Mooreville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tupelo, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hernando at 5:00 p.m. on December 2.
