Softball Recap: Merkel Takes a Loss

Merkel fell victim to Jim Ned and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Indians. The Badgers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it seven in a row.

Merkel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooklyn Homen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Merkel's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Jim Ned, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Merkel will square off against San Angelo Texas Leadership Charter Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jim Ned, they will challenge Clyde at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 11.1 runs per game this season.
