Basketball Recap: Master's Academy Comes Up Short

Master's Academy was the 39-7 winner over Boca Raton Christian when they last played one another back in November of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Master's Academy Patriots lost 40-16 to the Boca Raton Christian Blazers on Friday. The matchup marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Master's Academy still got an impressive performance from Alison Viersma, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Viersma has been hot recently, having posted eight or more boards the last four times she's played.

Delaney Cronin was her usual excellent self, putting up 23 points for Boca Raton Christian. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cronin has scored at least a third of Boca Raton Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Cinor, who put up 17 points.

Master's Academy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Boca Raton Christian, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Master's Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-28 defeat against Tradition Prep on the 9th. As for Boca Raton Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-16 win against Lake Worth Christian on the 10th.
