The Prentice Buccaneers will challenge the Marathon Red Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, Prentice came up short against Athens and fell 3-1. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
While Prentice ultimately came up short, they really made Athens work, particularly in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 18-25, 26-24, 25-18.

Despite the defeat, Prentice got top-tier performance from Leah Lord, who had 51 kills, 17 digs, five aces, and one block. Lord is crushing it when it comes to kills: she's had at least six every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Piper Heikkinen, who had 25 digs and two assists.
Marathon won the last time they faced Pacelli and Leah Dodson did her part to make sure it happened again. The Red Raiders were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Cardinals on Thursday for which the team can thank Dodson, who had nine digs and one assist. With that strong performance, Heikkinen is now averaging an impressive 10.4 digs per game.
While Marathon might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Pacelli scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-23, 25-22.
Prentice's loss dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Marathon, their victory ended a five-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 12-12.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Prentice has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 7.3 aces per game. However, it's not like Marathon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Prentice couldn't quite get it done against Marathon in their previous matchup back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Buccaneers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
