Soccer Game Preview: Holy Cross vs. Brother Martin

The Holy Cross Tigers will take on the Brother Martin Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Holy Cross is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Louisiana's top teams: Willow, who was ranked seventh at the time (Holy Cross was ranked sixth). Neither Holy Cross nor Willow could gain the upper hand on Saturday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Brother Martin kept a clean sheet against Destrehan on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over the Wildcats. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won 12 matches by four goals or more so far this season.

Brother Martin is also on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 56 goals over those 12 games. With that draw, Holy Cross' record moves to 15-1-2.
