Volleyball Recap: Lyman Eagles vs. Powell Panthers

Lyman faced Powell in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Eagles fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 3-2. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Lexie Snyder paced Lyman's offense, picking up 16 kills. Snyder got some help from Amy Eyre and her 49 assists. Lyndie Snyder controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Powell found their leader in sophomore Abigail Visocky, who had 25 digs and three assists. Those 25 digs set a new season-high mark for Visocky.

Lyman has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-12-1 record this season. As for Powell, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 15-11-1.
