Basketball Recap: Bishop's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Bishop was the 60-58 winner over Maranatha Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bishop's Knights fell just short of the Maranatha Christian Eagles by a score of 48-45 on Tuesday.

Maranatha Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adrian Ownbey out in front who went 7 of 13 on his way to 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ownbey is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dash Ekeroth, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 19 points.

Bishop's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7. As for Maranatha Christian, their win bumped their record up to 11-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop's will venture away from home to take on La Jolla Country Day at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st. As for Maranatha Christian, they will head out to square off against Santa Fe Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
