Basketball Recap: Artesia Takes a Loss

Artesia was the 40-33 winner over Portales when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Artesia Bulldogs came up short against the Portales Rams on Tuesday, falling 57-32. The Bulldogs were down 41-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Artesia has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Portales, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Artesia will host Goddard at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Portales has already played their next contest (against Lovington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
