Basketball Game Preview: Valdez Buccaneers vs. Monroe Catholic Rams

Valdez hasn't had much luck against Monroe Catholic recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Valdez Buccaneers will host the Monroe Catholic Rams at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Valdez strolled past Hutchison with points to spare, taking the game 52-33. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Meanwhile, Monroe Catholic humbled Delta with a 57-19 victory. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Monroe Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points over those games. The win got Valdez back to even at 10-10.
